William W. Ehrke is a shareholder with the firm. He graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering in 1978, and received his law degree from DePaul University in Chicago in 1981. He is a member of the Illinois and Wisconsin State Bars and is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and Illinois. He is also a member of the Civil Trial Counsel of Wisconsin. He practices in state and federal administrative forums (EEOC, Wisconsin Equal Rights Division, Illinois Department of Human Rights) as well as state and federal trial courts in Wisconsin and Illinois, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, and he is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
His litigation focus is on the civil defense of corporations, insurers and municipalities, with emphasis on personal injury/products liability defense, first party property insurance and bad faith defense, third party casualty insurance defense including the defense of fraudulent claims, municipal civil rights claims defense, employment discrimination (race, gender, disability, religion, harassment, disability, retaliation and hostile work environment) and workers compensation defense. His experience covers over 60 jury trials and over 100 administrative hearings and proceedings over the past 33 years and includes multiple arguments before the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
He also provides advice and counsel to municipalities and private insurers and employers on these issues outside of and prior to litigation in a risk analysis and loss reduction context.
